I am Pastor Allyn Itterly and was called to serve Prince of Peace in July of 2003. Since my arrival at Prince of Peace we have spent a lot of time discerning our ministry in and to the community. In this time we have come to realize the great joy of serving others and the benefits of taking the risks when it comes to trying new things to reach beyond our four walls!
I have been a pastor since 1992 and it is always exciting to see people grow and change as their faith becomes a more intricate part of their life. At Prince of Peace, worship is central. Children of all ages are encouraged to participate in worship and together we share in praising God. Worship, for the most part, is traditional but we are taking some risks and trying new ways of worship as gifts present themselves!
Growth also comes through learning and our Sunday School program has been blessed with greater participation and leadership in the past few years. Classes are available from preschool through 8th grade. All youth, grades 6-12 are invited to participate in the Annual Bible Bowl competition in February and weekly Bible study groups form around books of the Bible or topics.
Fellowship is also an important part of our church family. Coffee Fellowship follows worship each week and is a time for catching up and sharing. Throughout the month various opportunities arise for us to spend time together sharing a meal or snack and this time is always special and rewarding for all involved.
In the area of service we have found great blessing in looking and reaching beyond ourselves. These opportunities are many and varied and the giving is deep and genuine. Sharing Christ through worship, study, fellowship and service have helped us to realize the joy of serving God and being part of his family.
